Download a free trial copy of Genesis

You can install Genesis to try it out with your own Legacy© database, and use the program for 31 days (from date of first use) without charge. Click the button on the left to download the file, and install it by double-clicking the downloaded file (Genesis.msi) in Windows File Explorer.

You can try the viewing, navigation and other functions in the program, and publish your own database and "take delivery" of it, using Genesis, to see how the sharing system works. The Tour page on this website includes brief tutorials on these functions, which you can review before trying it out.

I suggest that you read the description of Genesis and review the tutorials in the Tour before using the program, so that you can get maximum value from the trial period.

If you like Genesis and want to use it to share your family history with relatives and friends, you and those who want access to the database will need registered copies of Genesis to install alongside a file sharing system such as Dropbox. A licence fee of $US12.00 is payable when registering a copy of Genesis.

You can download Dropbox here. It costs nothing and you get some free "cloud" storage space with it. There are other systems which peform a similar function, including Box, MediaFire, SkyDrive and SugarSync.

To register a trial copy of Genesis, choose "Register Genesis" on the "Help" menu in the Genesis window (the first window to appear when Genesis starts). You will need Internet access for registration, which uses PayPal to accept credit card, debit card or PayPal payments for the $US12.00 licence to use Genesis.

If you use Internet Explorer 9 (or later) to download Genesis

Unless you have turned off a feature called SmartScreen Filter in Internet Explorer, it will probably display a warning like this when you download Genesis:

As far as I can tell, this Microsoft warning is inevitable for any program which is new on the market. All I can do is to assure you that I have no intention of distributing malicious software, and have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the integrity of this website and the Genesis package.
